Dear all, Our apologies for the long delay in writing. So far, we have been officially announced that 72 of us have been granted refugee status. However, we are waiting to find out which country has accepted us. Hopefully this will be decided soon. At least, we are very much relieved that we know the decision about our refugee status and where we stand. We escaped death in our own homeland and we fled our birth land (Sri Lanka) due to fear of ethnic persecution and daily life becoming very dangerous. Now we are almost certain that we will not be sent back to Sri Lanka which will put our life at risk. All we need is a shelter and a safe place to live in order to lead a normal life. Friends and well-wishers, we would not have achieved this decision from the Australian Government if it was not for your help. We were overwhelmed by your kindness and we thank you from our heart. You gave us strength and hope to live! All your contribution, effort, concern, prayers and messages have made a big difference in our life. Again, thank you for all your support and contribution.
